It doesn’t matter how attractive and inviting your salon may look from the outside – no amount of curb appeal is going to grow your business unless your potential customers know that the service matches the decor. After all, many poorly-executed salon services can at best bring down your look, and at worst, cause you injury. There’s nothing like a satisfied customer to bring in future satisfied customers.
Here are seven ways how positive reviews can help you grow your salon business:
Social Media – Your Facebook and Twitter accounts can help to raise your profile, especially if your happy customers stop by to say so. Consider offering 5% discounts if they check-in and leave a review; saving money will already leave them feeling positive.
Interacting with customers and potential customers online will also help to make them feel valued – relationship-building with your client base should be part of the service.
Got a regular customer who spends a lot of time (and money!) at your salon? Encourage them to tell their friends – you might even want to consider a loyalty card scheme, offering discounts or even free treatments for repeat appointments. Be careful not to let this look like bribery. That wouldn’t be good for business.
Blow your own trumpet! Did you get a good review? Retweet it, repost it, or even print it out and display it in your salon. Don’t be shy.
A little staff competition is a good thing – offer staff incentives to encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews.
Are you tech savvy? Do regular searches online for your salon so that you can stay up to date with customer reviews. Be sure to respond to reviews as well; people appreciate being acknowledged.
Did you get a bad review? Be polite to unsatisfied customers and do all you can to remedy their complaint. You may end up with a satisfied and regular customer.
